Linda Hamilton turns 68
The actress was born Linda Carroll Hamilton on September 26, 1956, in Salisbury, Maryland, U.S. Hamilton’s acting debut came first on television during the early 1980’s in the prime-time soap opera Secrets of “Midland Heights”. She quickly found fame as a movie actress by starring in two major 1980’s blockbusters, the 1984 horror movie “Children of the Corn,” where she played the lead role, and of course, the also 1984 “The Terminator,” as Sarah Connor, which remains her most iconic role. In 1987 she starred opposite Ron Perlman in the successful TV series “Beauty and the Beast,” for which, she received Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations. Hamilton left the series in 1989, shortly before the final season in 1990. During the 1990’s she continued to score successful roles in TV and movies, one of the biggest hits was when she reprises the role of Sarah Connor for the 1991 blockbuster “Terminator 2: Judgment Day.” That same year she started a romantic relation with film director James Cameron, the couple got married in in 1997, but the marriage was short-lived, ending in a $50 million divorce settlement in 1999. In 2009, she once again returned as Sarah Connor in “Terminator Salvation,” in voice-overs only and she reprised the role in the latest “Terminator” movie. Also recently, Hamilton has had a prominent guest role on the TV series “Lost Girl” and a prominent recurring guest role on “Defiance.” Today she turns 68.
