Susan Sarandon Celebrates Her 78th Birthday Today

Susan Sarandon is celebrating her 76th birthday today. Born Susan Abigail Tomalin in New York on October 4, 1946, her career spans an arc over many different eras and tastes in American history. The actress, burst out as the nubile Janet in “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” back in 1975, went on to become positively prolific on the big screen, playing some incredibly memorable characters over the course of her storied career and winning the Oscar for Best Actress in 1996 in “Dead Man Walking”. Another iconic role was in the 1991 now cult movie “Thelma and Louise” where she played Louise. But she’s not just a great actress, she’s an inspiration, an icon, and a successful businesswoman. Sarandon’s savvy knows no bounds, from her ping-pong social club franchise SPiN to her carefully curated Instagram account to her repeated trips to…Burning Man! Moreover, her tips for living well are most useful at any adult age. Sarandon told You magazine “To stay young and healthy, you need to weed out toxic things—and toxic people! Oh, and laugh and have sex—if you’re lucky enough to find that—those are really important, too.” At this point in her career, there seems to be little Susan hasn’t done.
