The Bon Jovi drummer Tico Torres was born on October 7, 1953, in New York City, New York. Torres joined Bon Jovi in 1983, but he already had an impressive career as drummer before joining the band. He had played both live and in recording sessions with names such as Alice Cooper, Pat Benatar, Chuck Berry, Cher and Stevie Nicks. Tico it’s an influential drummer with a signature technique, his Jazz influence brought novelty to the Hard Rock style Bon Jovi were playing in the 1980’s, Torres studied music with Joe Morello, who was one of the drummers for the famous jazz group Dave Brubeck Quartet. He is one of Rock’s most successful drummers with a career spanning for over 40 years now. In 1996 he married the Chzec top model Eva Herzigová in a very mediatic marriage, that among others, was attended by Donald Trump; their marriage ended two years later though. Currently Tico, who played in every Bon Jovi album, still remains with the band and it’s one of the only 3 original members left (Jon Bon Jovi and David Bryan being the other two), he also splits his time with painting, he begun to paint in the 1990’s and since has done several expositions of his artwork. Tico Torres turns 71 today.
