Sharon Osbourne celebrates 72 today

Sharon Osbourne was born Sharon Rachel Levy on October 9, 1952, in London, England. She grew up in the world of music management, as her father, Don Arden, was a notorious music manager. This upbringing had a profound influence on her life and career, eventually leading her to manage her future husband, Ozzy Osbourne, and become one of the most recognizable figures in entertainment.
Sharon first became known as Ozzy Osbourne’s manager after they met in the late 1970s. Ozzy, the former lead singer of Black Sabbath, was struggling with his career after being fired from the band. Sharon took on the challenge of revitalizing his career, helping him launch a successful solo career and turning him into one of the biggest names in heavy metal music. Their relationship soon turned romantic, and the couple married in 1982. They have three children: Aimee, Kelly, and Jack.
Sharon’s public profile skyrocketed in 2002 when the Osbourne family starred in the MTV reality show The Osbournes. The show gave viewers an inside look at the chaotic but loving family dynamic of the Osbournes, with Sharon often portrayed as the glue holding the family together. The series became a massive hit, winning an Emmy Award, and it turned Sharon into a household name in her own right.
After the success of The Osbournes, Sharon Osbourne transitioned into a career as a television host and talent judge. She became a judge on the UK’s The X Factor from 2004 to 2007, and again in later seasons, where she helped discover and mentor successful music acts. Her outspoken personality and sharp wit made her a fan favorite.
In the U.S., Sharon was also a judge on America’s Got Talent from 2007 to 2012. She joined The Talk, a daytime talk show, in 2010. Sharon co-hosted The Talk for over a decade, offering candid opinions on a variety of topics until her controversial departure in 2021 following a debate about race and her defense of Piers Morgan.
In recent years, Sharon has been open about her battles with colon cancer, surviving the disease after being diagnosed in 2002. Sharon has also spoke candidly about her struggles with mental health, undergoing therapy for depression and anxiety. Her marriage to Ozzy, although turbulent due to his struggles with substance abuse and infidelity, has endured for over four decades, and the couple renewed their vows in 2017.
Sharon also founded the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program after her battle with the disease and has worked on various charitable causes, especially those related to health.
Despite the controversy surrounding her exit from The Talk, she continues to engage with her audience through various media outlets, including her podcast The Osbournes, which she hosts with her family, and she’s also involved in managing her husband’s career and family business.
