Born in Los Angeles, California on November 11, 1974, Leonardo DiCaprio became one of Hollywood’s most in demand actors over the last 30 years.  Starting his career as a child actor, DiCaprio starred on shows such as “The New Lassie” (1989), and “Santa Barbra” (1990).  In 1993 he made his film debut appearing next to Robert De Niro in “This Boy’s Life,” but his breakthrough role came next, also in 1993 alongside Johnny Depp in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” which earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. It marked the start of a brilliant and successful career, that brought him worldwide fame as one of Hollywood’s top heartthrobs of the 1990’s, appearing in several commercial successful movies with lead roles, including “Romeo + Juliet,” “Total Eclipse” in 1995 where he played the poet Arthur Rimbaud as a teenager, a role that was originally destined to the late River Phoenix, and in 1997 as Jack in “Titanic,” the highest grossing film at the worldwide box-office, for which DiCaprio received the MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance and his first nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Leonardo DiCaprio has matured as an actor since his early days performing mostly the roles of problematic teenagers. As the 1990’s came to an end, DiCaprio’s career took off in a more adult oriented direction, appearing in acclaimed movies including among many others “Inception,” “J. Edgar,” “The Great Gatsby” and “The Wolf of Wall Street” in 2013 for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. He has also become in the last few years one of Quentin Tarantino’s favorite actors, taking lead roles in “Django Unchained” and most recently “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” Today, turning 50, Leonardo DiCaprio’s brilliant career hasn’t yet stopped growing, with the extensive filmography he already carries in over 30 years of his debut as a film actor, to select the must watch ones can’t be easy.
