Jim Morrison gets arrested by the FBI at the Phoenix, Arizona Airport in 1969
Still fresh from the controversial performance at The Doors infamous Miami concert earlier that year, Jim Morrison gets in trouble again when he’s arrested by the FBI after landing on Phoenix, Arizona on November 11th, 1969. Morrison, who was on his way to a Rolling Stones concert with his friend actor Tom Baker, had been drinking and annoying the stewardesses. When they landed, were both arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct aboard a plane. The pair spent the night in jail and were released on $2,500 bail. This was another one, in a series of events between 1967 and 1969 that got Morrison in trouble with the law and rushed The Doors career to an end. By November 1969, Morrison had already earned a reputation as a person of interest by the FBI. While being trialed for the Miami concert, he left the U.S in 1971 to live in Paris. On July 3rd, 1971, Morrison was found dead at the age of 27 on the bathtub of his Paris apartment. Morrison has one of the biggest cults following in Rock, he’s an enduring legend that personifies and symbolizes rebellion and authority defiance, together with his iconic image and the timeless and amazingly enduring Doors music.
