The No.1 Punk Rock single of all times “Anarchy in the UK” by the Sex Pistols was originally released on November 26th, 1976. The now classic drew the mainstream and media attention to the emerging Punk scene and pushed the Pistols into the front of the movement. It was the Pistols only release on the EMI label as they were dropped on January 6th, three months after signing a contract. The single, issued in a plain black sleeve, is now one of the most sought out items for record collectors around the world. and was later featured on their album, “Nevermind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols! “Anarchy in the U.K.” is number 56 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and is included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.
