Loggins has had a prolific career spanning soft rock hits and iconic movie soundtracks, earning the title “King of Movie Soundtracks” with unforgettable and iconic hits like “Footloose” from the film of the same name and “Danger Zone” from Top Gun

The American singer-songwriter and guitarist Kenny Loggins was born on January 7, 1948, in Everett, Washington. Loggins first gained recognition as part of the duo Loggins and Messina, formed with Jim Messina in the early 1970s. Together, they released a series of successful albums, including “Sittin’ In” (1971) and “Full Sail” (1973), featuring hits like “Danny’s Song” and “Your Mama Don’t Dance.”
In the late 1970s, Loggins embarked on a solo career, achieving massive success with albums like “Celebrate Me Home” and “Keep the Fire.” His song “This Is It” won a Grammy Award, showcasing his knack for blending heartfelt lyrics with polished production.
Loggins became a cultural phenomenon in the 1980s, thanks to his contributions to movie soundtracks. He earned the title “King of Movie Soundtracks” with unforgettable and iconic hits like “Footloose” from the film of the same name, “Danger Zone” from Top Gun (1986), and “I’m Alright” from Caddyshack (1980).
Kenny Loggins has been married three times and has five children.
Loggins appears in the 2013 video game Grand Theft Auto V playing himself as the host of an in-game radio station called Los Santos Rock Radio and he also lends the songs “Danger Zone” and “I’m Free (Heaven Helps the Man)” and sings station jingles. In 2018, Loggins lent his voice to a caricature of himself on the animated comedy series Family Guy, in the episode titled “Veteran Guy”. His latest studio album “All Join In,” was released in 2009 and it is also his third album oriented to children following “Return to Pooh Corner” released in 1994 and “More Songs from Pooh Corner” released in 2000.
