Born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada on January 17, 1962, Carrey became known to the American audiences when in 1990 he landed in a recurring role in the sketch comedy television series In Living Color. Prior to that he already had appeared in several 1980’s American movies including “Peggy Sue Got Married” (1986), Dirty Harry’s final sequel “The Dead Pool” (1988) and the comedy “Earth Girls Are Easy” (1989).
