Emma Rose Roberts was born on February 10, 1991, in Rhinebeck, New York, to actor Eric Roberts and Kelly Cunningham. She is the niece of acclaimed actress Julia Roberts. Her parents separated when she was an infant, and she was raised primarily by her mother.
Roberts made her acting debut at the age of nine in the film “Blow” (2001), portraying the daughter of Johnny Depp’s character. She gained prominence with her lead role as Addie Singer in the Nickelodeon series “Unfabulous” (2004–2007), which also showcased her musical talents, leading to the release of the show’s soundtrack album, “Unfabulous and More,” in 2005.
Transitioning to more mature roles, Roberts appeared in films such as “Aquamarine” (2006), “Nancy Drew” (2007), and “Wild Child” (2008). She further expanded her repertoire with performances in “Scream 4” (2011), “We’re the Millers” (2013), and “Palo Alto” (2013). Her versatility and popularity were highlighted through her work in the anthology series “American Horror Story” and the comedy-horror series “Scream Queens” (2015–2016).
Roberts was in a relationship with actor and co-star Evan Peters from 2012 to 2019. She later dated actor Garrett Hedlund, with whom she welcomed a son, Rhodes, in December 2020. The couple parted ways in January 2022. In July 2024, Roberts announced her engagement to actor Cody John.
Currently, she is set to star in the upcoming film “Madame Web,” a Marvel superhero movie scheduled for release later this year. Additionally, she remains involved in various television projects and maintains a presence in the fashion world.
