The American actress, producer, director, and talk show host Drew Barrymore, was born on February 22, 1975, in Culver City, California. She hails from the illustrious Barrymore family, often referred to as “The Royal Family of the American Stage,” with a lineage of actors dating back to the 19th century. ​
Barrymore’s acting career commenced at a tender age, with her first appearance in a commercial before her first birthday. She gained international fame at seven years old with her role as Gertie in Steven Spielberg’s “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” (1982). However, her early rise to stardom was accompanied by personal challenges, including struggles with substance abuse during her youth. ​
Transitioning successfully from child star to leading actress, Barrymore has an extensive filmography.
