The actor Jensen Ackles celebrates 47 today
Best known for his portrayal of Dean Winchester on the long-running television series “Supernatural,” the American actor, producer, and director Jensen Ackles, was born Jensen Ross Ackles, born on March 1, 1978, in Dallas, Texas.
Ackles is the son of actor Alan Roger Ackles and Donna Joan Shaffer. He has an older brother, Joshua, and a younger sister, Mackenzie. Initially aspiring to study sports medicine at Texas Tech University, Ackles shifted his focus to acting after attending an acting workshop, leading him to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment.
Ackles gained early recognition for his role as Eric Brady on this daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives” (1997–2000), earning multiple Daytime Emmy Award nominations.
He also portrayed Alec/X5-494 in the science fiction series “Dark Angel” (2001–2002), and in 2004 Ackles joined the cast as Jason Teague in the fourth season of the superhero series “Smallville”. Ackles’ best known and most iconic role was as Dean Winchester in the long-running and hit TV series “Supernatural” which spanned 15 seasons. Since 2022 he portrays Soldier Boy in the Amazon Prime series “The Boys”, reuniting with “Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke.
In 2010, Ackles married actress Danneel Harris. The couple has three children: Justice Jay, and twins Zeppelin Bram and Arrow Rhodes. Together, they founded Chaos Machine Productions, securing a deal with Warner Bros. Television to develop new content. Today he celebrates 47.
