The British actor Daniel Craig was born on March 2, 1968, in Chester, England. Craig developed an interest in acting at a young age, performing in school plays and attending the National Youth Theatre in London and he graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1991. ​
Craig gained international acclaim as the sixth actor to portray James Bond, starting with “Casino Royale” (2006) and concluding with “No Time to Die” (2021). His portrayal revitalized the franchise, bringing a gritty realism to the iconic role. ​
Other notable movies include “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” (2011), where he played journalist Mikael Blomkvist in this adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s novel and “Knives Out” (2019) and “Glass Onion” (2022), starring as detective Benoit Blanc, Craig has also made significant contributions to theater, including a Broadway performance in “Macbeth” (2022). ​
Craig married actress Rachel Weisz in 2011, and the couple has a daughter together. He also has an older daughter from a previous relationship.
In 2024, Craig starred in “Queer,” directed by Luca Guadagnino, portraying an American writer in postwar Mexico City. The film explores themes of desire and isolation, marking a departure from his action-hero persona. Craig’s performance earned critical acclaim, including a Golden Globe nomination. ​
