Robert Reed Carradine was born on March 24, 1954, in Hollywood, California, into the renowned Carradine acting family. He is the son of actor John Carradine and actress and artist Sonia Sorel, and the brother of Keith Carradine and half-brother of the late David Carradine. Growing up in a household immersed in the performing arts, Robert developed a passion for acting early on.
Carradine made his film debut in 1972, appearing alongside John Wayne in “The Cowboys.” He continued to build his career with roles in notable films such as Martin Scorsese’s “Mean Streets” (1973), where he played a supporting role. In 1978, he portrayed a Vietnam War veteran in “Coming Home,” showcasing his range as an actor.
In 1984, Carradine gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Lewis Skolnick in the comedy “Revenge of the Nerds.” The film’s success led to several sequels, with Carradine reprising his role in each installment. His performance as the endearing and intelligent Lewis resonated with audiences and became a defining role in his career.
Beyond film, Carradine has an extensive television career. He appeared in series such as “Bonanza” and “Kung Fu,” the latter alongside his brother David.
