Actor Scott Wilson dies aged 76

Scott Wilson’s career spanned for over 5 decades, and despite being an awarded actor who starred in several acclaimed movies, only in recent years he saw an increasing rise of his popularity due to his role on the hit tv show “The Walking Dead” where he played Hershel Greene. Born on March 29, 1942 in Thomasville, Georgia, U.S, Wilson’s career begun in the 1960’s, and his first notable role was in 1967 on the classic “In The Heat Of The Night”. He also starred on the Truman Capote’s book adaptation of “In Cold Blood” where he played real-life murderer Richard Hickock. Other movies the actor starred were “The Great Gatsby” and “Dead Man Walking.” In 1980 earned a Golden Globe nom for Best Supporting Actor for playing Capt. Billy Cupshaw in the film “The Ninth Configuration.” On the same day that it was announced the return of Wilson’s character (who was killed on Season 4) to “The Walking Dead, he passed away peacefully Saturday October 6, aged 76 at his home in Los Angeles due to complications from leukemia.
