Band Aid “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” was released on this day in 1984

During the 1980’s Christmas songs made by modern Pop music artists reached a new level when on December 3rd the single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” by Band Aid was released featuring some of the biggest Pop stars at the time such as Bono, George Michael, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Boy George among many others

The spectacular Live Aid took place on this day in 1985

Held on July 13, 1985 at simultaneously at Wembley Stadium in London, England and at the John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia, U.S. Live Aid featured a never before seen parade of Pop and Rock artists including Queen, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Madonna, Wham!, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, David Bowie and Bob Dylan among many many others
