The singer and actress Marianne Faithfull was one of the biggest and most enduring 1960’s icons. She first came to prominence in 1964 with the Jagger/Richards penned “As Tears Go By” and shortly after became Mick Jagger’s steady girlfriend for over three years and the Rolling Stones muse, until drug addiction stroke her life costing her voice, but her career remained intact as she found her unique way to successfully adapt her “new” vocals to new music after that incident, resulting in a celebrated and influential career that lasted 6 decades.
