A Brief Overlook on Tom Selleck’s career

Born in Detroit, Michigan on January 29, 1945, the actor Tom Selleck spent most of the 1970’s receiving little interest from the entertainment industry despite his career going back to 1965, when he made his TV debut as a college senior on The Dating Game in 1965 and 1967, and also appearing on commercials for Pepsi-Cola. Towards the end of the 1970’s, Selleck got his first big role as private Thomas Magnum in the popular TV series Magnum, P.I, from 1980 to 1988. During that same period, the actor had to pass what could had been his big film debut, as Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark due to have signed an exclusive contract with the Magnum, P.I producers. Later in the 1980’s he had a main role in the 1987 comedy Three Men and a Baby. Since 1980, Tom Selleck has appeared in more than 50 film and television roles including Quigley Down Under, Mr. Baseball, and Lassiter. Currently he stars as NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan in Blue Bloods on CBS since 2010. Today he turns 79.
